Moon

Renegade Kid, Mastiff

Set on the Earth’s moon in the mid-21st century, in Moon, players take on the role of Major Kane. Chief of Military Operations for the Extra Terrestrial Encounter Organization (ETEO), you and your team have been brought in to investigate a series of strange happenings. Ever since the Roswell incident it has been clear that Earth has been visited by other beings, now a hundred years later it would seem that something similar may be happening on the moon. Contact with a distant lunar outpost was lost shortly after they reported discovery of a ‘hatch’ of alien origin during a routine excavation. What follows could be the next giant leap forward for mankind, but just what are we stepping into? Whatever it is, erratic energy readings from deep below the lunar surface has you thinking that it will not be a diplomatic mission. Welcome to the Moon Major.

Space Invaders Revolution

Space Invaders Revolution

Mastiff

Space Invaders Revolution is a new take on the series, which marks a true progression over any version before it: New types of invaders, new rules and new ways to destroy them. Contains a faithful reproduction of the original arcade machine in Classic Mode. New Era mode: the simple rules of Space Invaders are expanded and twisted into a revolutionary step for the classic franchise. New Era mode takes the form of a world tour, with the player confronting the Space Invaders at 20 recognisable geographical locations. In total there are 60 levels to defend and 13 different types of invader to battle. Power-ups include protective shields, additional support craft, rapid-fire shots and column-clearing laser beams - essential aides as the action becomes progressively more intense. Power-ups can be used in combination: using support craft with laser results in three laser beams, decimating multiple waves of invaders with every press of the fire button.

Gungrave: Overdose

Gungrave: Overdose

Red Entertainment, Mastiff, System 3 Software

Three years after the events that took place in the original Gungrave, the Corsione family has unleashed the deadly drug SEED upon the populace. Now it's up to Grave, Spike and Mika to follow the trail of SEED back to its source and eradicate it once and for all. Much like its predecessor, Gungrave: Overdose offers up several action-packed levels that simply don't allow the player to let up on the fire button. This sequel ups the ante with even larger hordes of enemies to blast through along with a slew of destructible environments to wreak havoc in. Along the way, Grave will team up with newcomers Juji and Billy. Juji fights using a unique combination of close-range guns and swordplay, while Billy defeats his enemies with the sheer power of his electric guitar.

Arika, Mastiff

This is a game where you have to use your sense of rhythm to pass the levels with 85 different songs. You walk around on a little stage with your character. As the music plays, markers pop up on the stage that expand in sync with the music. You have to hit those markers at the right time. This will trigger an instrument or jingle of the music (and give you points). Each characters has special abilities - some of them for example can move the markers to get them closer (or out of reach of the opponents). All characters can use a pitch-bend to change the tone of a triggered jingle for extra fun. Apart from having several game modes, you can also play this game solo or with a friend, either cooperative or in a battle mode to see who's got a better sense of rhythm.
