Sonic: After the Sequel (abbreviated Sonic ATS), is a fan game created by LakeFeperd that is meant to explain the events that may have taken place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles. In it, the player plays as Sonic and Tails, racing through numerous zones as Sonic and Tails go out to stop Dr. Eggman from crashing the Death Egg into (and attacking), the new, mysterious island known as Angel Island. It is the sequel to Sonic Before the Sequel.

LakeFeperd, Sonic Retro

Sonic Before the Sequel (abbreviated Sonic BTS) is a fan game created by LakeFeperd that is meant to explain the events that may have taken place between Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. In it, the player plays as Sonic and Tails, alternating between the duo through numerous zones as Sonic goes to stop Dr. Eggman from launching the Death Egg, with Tails trying to keep up and eventually meet and team up with Sonic. An update was released during SAGE 2012, adding improved graphics, an original soundtrack made by Falk, KgZ, Andy Tunstall & Funk Fiction, and a bonus boss if you reach the good ending. A sequel, Sonic After the Sequel, and an interequel, Sonic Before the Sequel Aftermath (which has now formed into another fangame by LakeFeperd called Sonic Chrono Adventure), were released as well.

Sonic Robo Blast 2, abbreviated as SRB2, is a fan game for Windows and DOS platforms. It is a 3D platformer developed by a group called Sonic Team Junior, using a modified version of the Doom Legacy source port of Doom, to allow for such things as optional analog control and true room-over-room (something not possible in the standard Doom engine), as well as the standard gameplay elements Sonic games are known for. It has been in the works since 1998 and is currently nearing completion, though several parts of the game are still missing. Sonic Robo Blast 2 is closely inspired by the original 2D Sonic games for the Genesis and attempts to recreate a game with this style in 3D, though it also borrows elements from the current Sonic games, such as Sonic's signature Air Spin Attack. Entirely original to SRB2 is its Multiplayer mode, a variation of classic first-person shooter games with Sonic elements. Due to being built with a modified Doom Legacy engine, the game is also very easily customizable. Custom levels, characters and even source code modifications can be created with the help of external editors.

Sonic Time Twisted is an open-source Classic Sonic style fan-made game, headed by Overbound. The game tries to improve upon the best features from Sonic the Hedgehog CD and the other Genesis/Mega Drive games. These features including time travel, elemental shields, and 3D special stages. The player controls Sonic and co. and they play like they do in the Genesis titles. Like in Sonic the Hedgehog CD, the player must use time poles (now adjusted to be instant) to travel through two different time zones, Past and Future. In the Past, Sonic must find the Special Stages and collect the Time Stones, while in the Future, Sonic must also find the Special Stages, however, these have the Chaos Emeralds. Beat all 14 Special Stages in each time zone (7 each) and the player will achieve the True Ending. Besides that, the player must traverse through 8 zones, most with 2 acts each, reach the Goal Post at the end, as well as encounter a boss at the end of the stage be it Metal Sonic or one of many loyal Super Badniks.

Sonic eXtended Genesis, aka Sonic XG, is a Sonic fangame created by Euan "Sir Euan" Gallacher and Joseph "Nitemare" Waters, and has gone through many different variations in the past. Its most recent build was released on August 17th, 2023.

The good news: A festival is being held in honor of Mega Man and his tireless heroics! The bad news: Dr. Wily shows up to ruin the fun, and basically everything at the festival tries to kill our hero... wait, didn't we go through this exact routine already?! MaGMML1 Remastered is a full-fledged remake of the original MaGMML1, rebuilding it completely in a new game engine in an attempt to bring it up to the standards of subsequent contests. While the entries are the same beyond engine fixes and extremely minor tweaks, the entire rest of the game has been completely revamped! The hubs, tier bosses, extras, you name it, have all been completely redone, all in a totally functional, smooth 60 FPS. Of course, the remake doesn't fix most of the problems that you might have with the entries themselves, but the playing experience is (hopefully) much improved, so new generations of people interested in the series can experience its roots without being dumped into a pit by Rush Jet! Tons of quality life features have been added as well, be it Skip Teleporters or leaderboards inspired by MaGMML2, or new options such as being able to toggle lives on and off and being able to choose if you want to view the very outdated judge comments or instead innocently pretend MaGMML1's judge rubric didn't exist.
